Brow Lift & Eyelid Lift (Blepharoplasty)
What is a brow lift? With aging the brows tend to descend. Patients complain of a persistent “angry” or “tired” appearance to the eyes. A browlift restores the youthful position of the brow. We perform browlifts endoscopically with tiny incisions behind the hairline so that there are no visible incisions. A brow lift can be performed under local anesthesia with sedation or general anesthesia. A brow lift is often performed in conjunction with other procedures to enhance results, particularly blepharoplasty (eyelid lift). Botox or Dysport are sometimes recommended before your procedure to help prevent the depressor muscles of the brow from pulling your brow downward after your surgery.

What is a blepharoplasty (eyelid lift)? A blepharoplasty is aimed at restoring the youthful appearance of the eyes by tightening the sagging skin in these areas and removing or repositioning excess fat accumulation in these areas. This improves the tired or sad look that patients complain about. The incisions are hidden in the natural creases of the eyelid or can be performed inside the eyelid. A blepharoplasty can be performed under any kind of anesthesia depending on your personal preference. Blepharoplasty is often combined with a brow or midface lift to maximize rejuvenation in the periorbital region. In addition, laser resurfacing of the skin can help remove fine wrinkling, which is difficult to correct with surgery alone. Botox and Dysport are also useful adjunctive treatments.
It is important to choose the correct kind of procedure with blepharoplasty because over resection of fat can lead to an improved cosmetic appearance in the short term, but lead to a hollowed, aged appearance years later. It is important when choosing your surgeon that they are comfortable with multiple different techniques to address the aging eyelid and do not do the same procedure on every single patient. Every patient in our practice is treated as an individual and we customize your care based on your needs and preferences.
What is the recovery time? Everyone heals differently but most of the swelling and bruising resolves in 7-14 days.
