What is Sculptra?

Sculptra Aesthetic is a proprietary formulation of biocompatible, biodegradable, synthetic poly-L-lactic acid capable of stimulating the body’s production of collagen in target areas. After an average of three treatments, Sculptra Aesthetic has been shown to significantly diminish shallow to deep facial wrinkles and folds that appear with aging—with results that last at least two years. Sculptra Aesthetic is ideal for those seeking a gradual, lasting transition when compared to other injectable fillers, such as Restylane of Juvederm, which produce immediate results lasting 6 to 12 months.

Sculptra Aesthetic is FDA approved and has been in the U.S. since 2009, but has been used worldwide since 1999. The most common areas treated include the cheeks, chin and temple regions, and nasolabial folds—the lower eyelid region and lips are off limits.
